My name is Laura Brache, and I am honored to introduce myself to you as the editor of The Alamance Fabric – Your new, community-focused news initiative.
First, I want to thank you. You are one of the inaugural subscribers to the Fabric's list, and your subscription confirms that our community is hungry for more news and information that reflects the life, complexity, and spirit of Alamance County. Keep an eye on your inbox for our official launch in January!
Since day one, my priority has been to get out of my home office and listen. I've been meeting with community leaders, small business owners, elected officials, local activists, educators and potential information partners across the county. That's because my goal is to understand what is working, what is missing, and what news and information needs are most important for your daily life here.
These conversations have already confirmed a few things: You are passionate about how our communities continue to grow. You are concerned about affordability and housing. You are eager to find ways to bridge community divides to move forward together.
I have a “virtual open-door policy” to hear from as many of you as possible. If you have 15-20 minutes for a quick coffee, call, or virtual chat about what you're seeing and what matters to you most, please reply to this email and let me know. I'm eager to schedule a time to hear your perspective.
